Artist's statement: Kelly

Well, what can I say about my horrible HTML page. I’ve tried to make it as bad as I could. I made the title say “INSERT_TITLE_HERE” to make it look like I forgot to enter a title for the page. I’ve also used Colorzilla to match the color of the numbers in the background. This helped me blend the font into the background as best as I could. The marquee at the top is pretty annoying because of the very fast scrolling. I’d be pretty amazed if anybody could actually read it. I made sure to make lots of spelling errors and wrote in a really annoying style that I’ve seen where you capitalize every other letter. Not only is it annoying but it makes it pretty heard to read. The large image scrolling under the text is sure to slow down the load times of people with older computers. It’s also got about a paragraph of rambling in the alternate text to make it very hard for anybody who is using a text-only browser or a program that reads the content. There’s a couple random links on the left that take you to the “stuck page.” The links are hard to access though because when you mouse-over the size goes from large to very small. The text color also goes from green to black making it very hard to find exactly where you need to click. I purposely created the "stuck page" page without navigation to make it frustrating. The only way to get back is to use the back button or restart your internet application. I'm hoping to find a script to disable the back button to make it truly a "stuck" page. There’s also some random rainbow graphics to distract the user. My favorite part of my bad HTML site is the fake counter at the bottom. Obviously, there has not been 9,661,543 visitors to my site. It is simply a gif image that I made quickly with Gimp.

Here's the link to my site. (The background is a huge image and may take a while to load).
